David Barr, LCSW joined Child Guidance Center as the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Veteran Programs in 2018. In this role, he leads the Agency’s strategic initiatives for expanding partnerships with other top tier providers with the goal of serving high-need populations and locations throughout Orange County. David also oversees the military-connected family initiatives at Child Guidance Center; specifically, CGC’s involvement in the Strong Families, Strong Children collaborative as the lead agency. This collaborative is dedicated to filling the service gaps that exist for active duty, Reserve, National Guard, and veteran families in Orange County.
David is an Iraq War veteran, having served with both the active duty US Army and the California Army National Guard. Upon leaving the service, holding the rank of Captain, David returned to Southern California and completed a Master of Social Work program at the University of Southern California. David provided trauma counseling for active duty, reservists, and veterans through the Orange County Health Care Agency and the Department of Veterans Affairs where he became an LCSW in 2016.
David is a Southern California native and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.
