Good mental health during childhood and adolescence is just as important as good physical health. Child Guidance Center is dedicated to providing excellent behavioral and mental health services for the youth of Orange County. We work with family members, teachers and others who all have important roles in ensuring children are able to achieve their true potential.
Our organization began in 1967 when a group of health care professionals and parents recognized the need for local children’s mental health services. Today we are a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization with more than 80 masters, doctorate, and MD trained mental health specialists who collectively speak more than 8 languages. Each month our teams assist approximately 1,000 children, youth and their family members. In the past 54 years, an estimated 150,000 children, teens, young adults and their family members have benefited from our treatment and supportive services.
Child Guidance Center exists to serve Orange County’s diverse community. Our services reflect our commitment to children and families impacted by bias, hate, and/or oppression, including underserved, underrepresented, minority populations, and LGBTQ+ youth. We believe all children deserve access to transformative mental health services provided in an environment that celebrates and supports diversity in all its forms.
