Specialty Services

Military and veteran families face many unique challenges. They may struggle with the challenges of deployment or returning home, transitions, parenting and maintaining personal relationships. We understand these challenges because our team members either have a military service background personally or through a family member.

Explore our programs, which are designed to help military and veteran families manage stress, improve parent-child relationships, and develop effective parenting and problem-solving skills:

  • Families OverComing Under Stress (FOCUS) provides resilience training to military children and families. FOCUS teaches families practical skills to overcome common challenges related to a parent's military service, to communicate and solve problems effectively, and to successfully set goals together and create a shared family story.

  • Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidenced-based, behavior-centered, family-oriented therapy designed to help improve the parent-child relationship through interaction. PCIT can help parents develop effective parenting techniques and decrease behavior issues in children, and may also lead to a stronger family relationship.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences or trauma.

  • Seeking Safety is an evidence-based counseling therapy to help people attain safety from trauma and/or substance abuse.

  • Groups for Parents/Partners/Spouses Provides safe and supportive space for parents, spouses or significant others to share about all aspects of military life and connect with others. This group is also designed to empower parents to develop and reinforce essential parenting skills through participation of exercises, role playing activities, psychoeducation and group discussions.
