Make a Tax-Smart Gift that Changes Lives
A gift through your IRA is one of the most tax-smart and impactful ways to support children and families receiving mental health care through Child Guidance Center.
If you are age 73 or older, you must take a required minimum distribution (RMD) from your IRA. This type of charitable gift could help reduce your taxable income while directly supporting life-changing mental health services for children, teens, veterans, and military-connected families.
How It Works
Making a gift through your IRA is simple:
Contact your IRA administrator to request a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).
Ask your provider to send the distribution directly to Child Guidance Center Tax ID 95-2546170.
Notify us of your gift so we can thank you and ensure your gift is directed according to your wishes.
Important Information
To qualify as a tax-free Qualified Charitable Distribution:
You must be age 70½ or older
Gifts must come directly from your IRA administrator to Child Guidance Center
Individuals age 73 and older can use QCDs to satisfy Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs)
Please consult your financial advisor or tax professional to determine how an IRA charitable gift may benefit your specific situation.
The Advantages of Giving Through Your IRA
An IRA charitable rollover, also known as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), allows eligible donors to make tax-free gifts directly from an IRA to a qualified nonprofit organization. You can give up to $111,000 tax free from your IRA directly to a qualified charity like Child Guidance Center. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions.
Benefits may include:
Satisfying all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)
Potentially reducing your taxable income
Supporting children and families in need without affecting your cash flow
Making an immediate impact through a simple and secure giving method
Even if you do not itemize deductions, giving through your IRA may still provide meaningful tax advantages.
How Your Gift Helps
Your IRA gift helps ensure that children, teens, veterans and families facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral challenges receive the care they need to heal and thrive. At Child Guidance Center, 88% of every donated dollar goes directly into treatment and services for children and families.
Your support can help:
Provide therapy and counseling for those in crisis
Strengthen families with mental health education and support
Expand access to affordable care for underserved communities
Support military-connected families and veterans navigating mental health challenges
Create a Lasting Legacy
Your IRA gift is more than a financial decision — it is an investment in the emotional well-being of children and families in our community. Together, we can help ensure every child has access to compassionate mental health care and the opportunity for a brighter future.
